Beaches in Pervolia and Larnaca
Faros Beach – Cape Kiti – Pervolia
Faros beach is about 500m from the villa, just off Cape Kiti. A small beach with facilities for a relaxing day by the sea. There is a beach bar and water sports available, with jet skis and more. The beach also has a sea barrier – ideal for small children to play in the sea, without the tide to worry about.
The beach is very much in walking distance, round the edge of the cape, you can even stroll there from the beach by the villa when the tide is out. Faros beach is perfect if you don’t like big crowds.
McKenzie Beach – Larnaca
McKenzie Beach, sometimes spelt Mckenzy Beach, is about a 15 minute drive from Pervolia and is great for more of a day trip beach visit. There are shops, bars and restaurants across the promenade and a large municipal car park away from the beach, which is not expensive – make sure you bring some coins though.
Again, Mckenzie beach is a flat beach, perfect for families with small children. There are also watersports available at the end of the beach with jet skis, speed boats, water skiing, windsurfing and parascending. There is also diving available around the Zenobia wreck and induction dive courses.
For the more sedate, you can also hire sun loungers and umberellas for approx €2.50 each for the day.
To get to the McKensy beach, head to Larnaca and turn right just past the airport, opposite the Salt Lakes. The beach is well sign-posted.
Phinikoudes Beach – Larnaca
Phinikoudes Beach is the main beach in Larnaca town. There is parking near the Marina and the beach has all the facilities you will need. There is also a bustling promenade with shop, bars and restaurants of all tastes, although these are not traditional Cyprus with McDonalds, Starbucks and other generic restaurants available.
There’s lots to do for all the family at Phinikoudes Beach. If you get bored there is a small Fun Park for young children, arcades and watersports for the more adventurous. Sunbeds and umbrellas are also available. As busy as Phinikoudes beach sounds, it is still relatively laid back.
There is also a marina to the north of beach with various sea boat tours available and also diving.
